Presentation: Mental Health in the Black Community & How to Find Support. Part of a community event alongside other speakers and workshops. Discussed mental health challenges Black men experience.  

 

October 10, 2024 — CPP Investments × Black Minds Matter UK — Mental Wealth Session
Panel: The Power of Vulnerability, Seeking Help Early – What is Therapy and How to Take Care of Your Mental Health.
Co-led discussions on stigma, therapy, and mental health in Black communities, and strategies for wellbeing in both personal and workplace contexts.

 

October 21, 2024 — BPS Psychotherapy Section Annual Conference
Presentation: Decolonising Integrative Practice with Black Queer Men. (Part of the conference programme on decolonised approaches).

 

November 16, 2024 — Ayati Mind: Man Talk Eat & Connect (Christ Church, Newham)
Panel & Workshop Sessions: Introduced therapy, life coaching, and strategies for men’s mental health. Co-led “Reclaiming Your Power – Healing and Growth” (on toxic masculinity, relationships, generational trauma) and facilitated group therapy discussions and workshops.

Conference exploring anti-racist, intersectional, and intercultural methods in psychotherapy.

October 28, 2023 — Community Trauma Conference UK (Online)
Panel discussion: Black Men & Sexuality: Meet us at the Intersection of Race & Gender. Anthony Davis featured alongside Dennis Carney & Wayne Mertins-Brown.

December 5, 2023 — UK Parliament, Health & Social Care Select Committee
Invited to give oral evidence on men’s mental health and suicide, representing BACP.

2022

Participated in a public-facing film on accessing therapy.

November 29, 2022 — BACP Making Connections, London
Presentation: Psychological Distress Among Black Gay, Bisexual and MSM: Implications for Therapeutic Practice.
Explored the intersection of race, sexuality, and mental health, and offered therapeutic strategies for working with Black gay, bisexual, and men who have sex with men (MSM).
